BaZi × Jyotish
At TwinSky, BaZi helps explore broad life patterns and chart structure, while Jyotish brings layered perspectives to specific themes. From the overall picture to career, relationships, and life stages, one question can be approached from two angles.

Is 2027 a good year for me to change jobs?
TwinSkyAI-generated · Example
Explore opportunities, and clarify the terms of the new role first.
In this BaZi chart, the 2026–2036 luck pillar is Yin Wood over the Ox, and its Yin Wood is the Direct Officer; the Yin Fire of 2027 is the Direct Resource. Within this tradition, that suggests considering clear responsibilities and room to learn or gain qualifications, alongside salary.
In Jyotish, Mars is in the career house. A Jupiter major period starts on 22 October 2027; Jupiter rules the seventh and tenth houses. Career direction and working relationships are therefore useful themes to discuss. A period change does not guarantee a job offer or establish a start date.
In practice, start by interviewing and getting to know the team. Once you have a written offer, review the responsibilities, probation terms and your cash buffer. If the growth prospects remain unclear, staying in your current role while building skills is also a reasonable choice.

Why bring BaZi and Jyotish together?
First, explore the broad landscape of life. Then change lenses to look more closely at its different areas. This is the starting point for bringing the two traditions together in TwinSky.
BAZI
BaZi · Broad life patterns and chart structure
Starting with the Day Master, birth month, Ten Gods, and Five Element relationships, explore the overall chart structure, ways of acting, and relationships with resources. Major periods and annual cycles provide a framework for interpreting shifts across life stages.
JYOTISH
Jyotish · Specific themes and layered perspectives
Starting with planets, houses, and nakshatras, use divisional charts to explore themes such as career and relationships. Planetary periods and transits add a perspective on event themes and possible time windows.
For a career question, for example, begin with BaZi to explore your approach and current life stage. Then turn to career-related houses, divisional charts, and periods in Jyotish. The two readings can inform each other while retaining their differences.
Broad and detailed views describe an interpretive emphasis, not a strict boundary between what the systems can do. More detailed calculations do not mean the predictions have been validated; birth information and real-life experience matter just as much.
What makes TwinSky Agent different?
TwinSky Agent is supported by our own chart and rule engine. Your birth details are first calculated into structured charts. The Agent then reads the relevant references, develops an interpretation, and lets you continue the conversation. Calculation and conversation each have a clear role.
Charts computed in TwinSky, rules first
Here, “local” means the charts are calculated in the TwinSky computing environment. The engine uses birth time, place, and chart settings to compute the results. The calculation process supplies core data such as stems and branches, planetary positions, and periods.
Two charts, explored as needed
BaZi provides the Four Pillars, Ten Gods, Shen Sha, annual cycles, and major periods. Jyotish provides planets, houses, divisional charts, and planetary periods. The Agent reads the data relevant to your current question, then develops the interpretation.
Chart references you can revisit
Open the linked chart references in an answer to see which part of the chart an explanation draws on. This provides a traceable path between calculated results and their interpretation.
50 questions, compared side by side

Without engine data, 20% of answers did not meet all requirements: 9 had chart-field mismatches and 1 failed the format requirement. All 50 answers with engine data passed, with no mismatches observed in the tested chart fields.
TwinSky engine calculations were the reference. Five model-only fields were unscored due to the format failure, and two mismatches involved ambiguous late-Zi-hour conventions. The test covered chart fields only; it does not measure full interpretations or real-world predictive accuracy.
Can I use only BaZi or only Jyotish?
Yes. Open “Chart systems” in the conversation input. Keep only “BaZi” on for a BaZi reading, or only “Jyotish” for an Indian astrology reading. Turn on both for a dual-chart reading. You can switch before sending your next question; at least one system must stay on.
What is Jyotish?
Jyotish is a traditional Indian system of astrology, often translated as “the study of light.” It builds a chart from the time and place of birth, bringing together planets, houses, and nakshatras (lunar mansions) to interpret personality, relationships, and life stages.
Birth chart: start with the whole picture
The D1 birth chart is the starting point for examining the overall relationships between planets and houses. Traditional Jyotish generally uses a sidereal zodiac, accounting for precession when determining zodiac positions.
Divisional charts: another angle on the same sky
Divisional charts are derived from the same set of zodiac positions at birth. D9 is often used to explore relationships and other themes, while D10 is often used for career. They need to be interpreted alongside the birth chart.
Planetary periods: exploring time in layers
Dasha is a system of planetary periods. Vimshottari, for example, arranges these periods based on the Moon’s nakshatra at birth, then divides them into layers to explore life stages and changes.
Divisional charts and the Ascendant can be sensitive to birth time. The less certain the time, the more carefully details should be treated. Narrowing a reading to a particular day does not make an event inevitable.
How does Jyotish differ from Western astrology?
The two have distinct traditions in their interpretive focus and commonly used methods. Here, Western astrology mainly refers to two influential modern approaches: psychological and humanistic astrology.
Modern Western approaches: psyche and potential
Psychological astrology is strongly influenced by Jung’s ideas of archetypes, the unconscious, and individuation, while also drawing on other schools of psychology. Modern humanistic astrology emphasizes personal growth and the development of potential. Their language tends toward symbolism, abstract meaning, and personality analysis, and de-emphasizes prediction as a goal, particularly for specific external events.
Jyotish: life areas and phases
Jyotish retains a structured tradition of analyzing events and timing. It brings together planets, houses, divisional charts, planetary periods, and transits to discuss the themes and possible changes of different phases in career, relationships, and other areas.
Zodiac reference: different conventions
Modern Western astrology generally uses a tropical zodiac beginning at the vernal equinox. Jyotish generally uses a sidereal zodiac with an adjustment for precession. As a result, the same birth information may yield different zodiac sign positions.
We want to explore both “What kind of person am I?” and “What phase am I going through in career, relationships, and other areas?” The divisional charts and planetary periods of Jyotish suit the TwinSky approach to exploring specific questions in layers.
Complementing BaZi
BaZi helps explore broad life patterns and chart structure, while Jyotish uses houses and divisional charts to examine different life areas, adding more specific perspectives to the overall reading.
Putting questions in the context of time
Bring together major periods, annual cycles, and planetary periods to discuss how the same theme may change across life stages, allowing the conversation to explore its timing in greater depth.
See what the explanation draws on
Connect each reading to the relevant chart, divisional chart, and planetary-period references. Analyze the two traditions separately, then compare their common themes and differences to help you understand the basis of each interpretation.
Where do these two traditions come from?
Both are connected to how people observed the sky and kept time in the past. Each gradually developed its own methods of interpretation within a different culture.
BaZi: from the stem-branch calendar to the Ziping tradition
BaZi is rooted in stem-branch timekeeping, solar terms, and yin-yang and Five Element theory. Writings on individual destiny developed through the Tang and Song periods. Later Ziping methods placed the Day Master, birth month, and Ten God relationships at their center, with further organization and discussion in Ming and Qing texts.
Jyotish: from ritual calendars to layered charts
Early Jyotish traditions were connected to calendars and ritual timing associated with the Vedas. Later Indian natal astrology interacted with Hellenistic astrological knowledge. Over a long period of transmission, it developed methods involving planets, houses, nakshatras, divisional charts, and planetary periods.
Sign in and enter your birth date, time, and place to create a profile. Explore your charts or ask about something that matters to you. Continue in the same conversation and return to it later through your conversation history.
Can I use TwinSky if my birth time is uncertain?
You can explore with the information you have and mention the uncertainty when asking questions. Birth time affects parts of the charts and their interpretation, especially near a two-hour BaZi period boundary. Time calibration can offer another reference, but an estimate is not a verified birth record.
Why might my charts differ from those on other sites?
Birthplace, time zone, apparent solar time, day-boundary rules, and calculation conventions can all lead to differences. Check the birth details and chart settings before comparing. Where a reading includes linked chart references, you can open them to see the relevant positions.
Can I explore a relationship between two people?
Yes. Create profiles for both people, then use the two-person comparison to explore relationship patterns, attraction, and differences. You can also ask follow-up questions after the report. Relationships take effort from both people in real life; the charts offer one perspective on understanding each other.
How do points work?
Each question is 150 points, a two-person report 400, the 36-point match 400, and birth time calibration 300. Points you buy never expire, and your balance, deductions and refunds are all listed on your account page.
Can I leave the page while waiting for an answer?
Once your question has been submitted, you can leave and return through your conversation history to check progress and read the answer. Questions that fail because of a system error do not cost points. If you have a question about a deduction, note the question and when it happened, then use the contact link to report it.
